My previous employment includes the University of Wisconsin-Stout Student Association, Stout’s shared governance organization, serving both in general senate and as the Director of Sustainability. I was responsible for meeting with members of UW-Stout’s student body to discuss their experiences as student, how it could be improved, educating students on policies of the university, state, and nation, particularly those directly impacting their educational experience. As Director I was responsible for organizing and facilitating weekly meetings with students, delegating responsibilities in a group setting to accomplish goals, and advocate the visions of students to state representatives
At UW-Stout, I have received education in Applied Social Science and will be graduating in the spring of 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in History & Politics and Economics. This education helped me develop critical thinking skills by learning abstract social theories for explaining perceptions of the nature of human interaction, and by learning the technical skills required for effectively communicating and conveying complex ideas. As a student I have developed multiple studies where I was responsible for conducting interviews, creating surveys, conducting regression analysis and succinctly synthesizing gathered information in a presentable format.
Before attending the University of Wisconsin-Stout, I was fortunate to have employment with PEAK Learning Systems as part of the A/V crew and as bookstore manage. Far more than plugging projectors into outlets and setting up sound-systems. With PEAK, I was able to travel across the nation, interact with educators from a kindergarten to high school level, and sit in on discussions of effective educational practices from professionals educating in incredibly diverse backgrounds. This employment taught me to navigate cross-continental transportation, cooperate with a team to accomplish time-oriented tasks in environments of duress, and professionally interact with educators from across the U.S.
Outside of academics and professional experience, I have been a brand representative for Passion Board Shop of Eau Claire, a special voting registration deputy, Vice-President of Recruitment for Pi Lambda Phi – increasing new member recruitment 150% - I even found time to complete MS Excel certification.
Professional advancement in this field has great value, and I feel that I have the skills and determination necessary to add value to this organization. I can be contacted at 715.577.8090 (Cell) or by email at nevilled0623@my.uwstout.edu to schedule an interview. I appreciate your time spent considering me for this position and look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Dane Neville
